![]() You have a good idea of how to lower it, very little idea of how to raise it and absolutely no idea about how you stand with the other nations. Diplomacy is now like taking a shot in the dark. For a game that was made with the intention of being more diplomatic and AIs are uncommonly aggressive. My biggest complaint for this game is the very very very spotty diplomacy system. The AI is typically pretty good about picking the best places, but you can always buy up the places you really want if its going too slow. Gold allows to choose what tiles you wish to buy, while culture automatically claims tiles for you. The new method of expanding ones border is also very interesting, a combination of culture and gold. One is forced to plan ahead by timing the construction of wonders, settlers, and military units to coincide with the adoption of new policies. The removal of religion and civics will definitely annoy some, but the new system of policies is a pretty good replacement. The new culture system is also very nice. Making defeating the enemies in all situations a cakewalk. However, while the combat system is very nice, the computer never uses any tactics when attacking you. The use of hexes and the fact that only one unit of each type can be on a hex opens the game up to much more challenging combat as well as unique tactics. Civilization V is an amazing game, but it is not without its faults. About 12 of them on 2 to 4 player multiplayer games and the rest on single player. First off, as of 2 days after the release of the game I have logged 16 hours of play time. The use of hexes Having been a Civilization addict for about 5 to 6 years I feel like I can give an unbiased review. Having been a Civilization addict for about 5 to 6 years I feel like I can give an unbiased review. When I get a few free minutes, I can play with them and all still benefit so it’s not just charity. But, at the risk of sounding like DeeJ, one of the reasons I like this game is because the cool, hardcore players like Obi, Booker, Gravi and others are always on. I get the people who play less saying “I like it because I get stuff easier”. Not saying it's a simple fix but a lot of people are disenchanted with PvP who, like me, stuck around for D1's Trials. D1 too powered, D2 underpowered, somewhere in the middle is the sweet spot. TripleWreck may be at a higher level of play but he's not just bullshitting, both games can be criticized for not hitting the right balance. Granted, a 4v1 in D1 would still be hard if they all focused me down with teamfire, but I could maybe eek out a kill or two with a sticky, melee, etc. Ranged gunplay and smaller maps/teams encourages "boring" play compared to D1. I can't imagine how boring Rumble will be with this style of play. I can't influence the game beyond what dmg I can deal solo. I can't help them learn that A is a bad point to take, or that Nightstalker super is broken, etc. I have no sway on the game unless I follow them, hold their hands and help them get kills. But in a solo queue I can't carry a team with 1-3 bad players. I'm not saying D1 was perfect, far from it. I dunno, maybe? What do we want from Destiny PvP, tactical shooting or empowered individuals? Because a solo queue team vs a premade is almost always going to lose in D2 Crucible. why wouldn't the opinions of the most popular/talented PvP streamers out there be interesting information? Like, when all the major FGC guys said SFV sucks ass, that was a notable opinion based on how hard they titled that game to try to appeal to that group. what? If PvP (and the whole game) was made to appeal to eSports streamers this time around. Which is about as idiotic a complaint as one might come up with. I mean, tripleWRECK was one of the first and certainly the prominent complainer that "they couldn't relax in regular crucible" because of 'SBMM'. They are amazing players but that says nothing whatsoever about their expertise in game balance across a diverse player base (or even in their own population) There is no reason to care what any of them do or do not like about the crucible I mean SHOULD a single player be able to swing a match that hard? Honest question I don't play half the amount of shooters that some do. ![]() ![]() Good? Kinda demoralizing being farmed like tulip bulbs. See, the interesting thing here is that reads to me as "awesome players can't solo the enemy team all the time" which is like. TripleWreck said that in Destiny 2, “staying in a group gives the greatest potential for victory,” which can lead to “one-dimensional gameplay, overemphasizing a singular strategy and undermining an individual’s ability to impact a match.” ![]() The de-emphasis on powerful weapons and abilities means that it’s harder to pull off moments of glory, those times when you’re outnumbered four to one and somehow pull a victory out of thin air. |
